As discussed, spoke with Martyn for his impartiality and knowledge and he suggested a figure around £250 for the additional cabling/distance into PFL.

So if we all agree proposal is

WC £1655
PFL £1904 (thanks to Billy for understanding on this)

It is a bitter pill but one I guess we have to swallow.

Now Martyn is okay with 3 (or 2 cheques). My intention will be to go to Yarnton tomorrow (Thur) and hand over a completed form plus cheques.

Robert I think you mentioned your sister helping as you are overseas. Would she be able to have a cheque for SSE here by Thur am, or might you & Billy be able to work something out? Also, we are planning to nominate SSE as our supplier. Obviously they are not on any of our xmas card lists but we feel it is best option to avoid them blaming any 3rd parties for delays. We can individually transfer later as we wish.

Gary's groundwork contact was caught in traffic yesterday and did not make it, he's meant to be here tonight. Am thinking about backup in case that does not come off. Have just tried Nick V but he must have changed mobile as number not recognised. Barrett's son in laws father has also been mentioned. Gary may be able to turn something up.

Once we have someone I think we are looking for a quotes as follows;

1) Big dig to go from Templewood to land out back - split 3 ways (EC, WC, PFL)

2) Small dig to go to WC & EC boundary (assuming we go with the shared trench) - split 2 ways (EC, WC)

3) Small dig to go to PFL - 1 split (PFL)

so thanks to iain and billy for good cooperation ,and to billy for making an allowance for length ..er...if you see what i mean .


i spoke to martyn about the price and how it seemed 3.5k more than the nov price ,with only one more addition for templewood ,and asked him to put the reasons in writing for me in a mail.

we may need this if we want to try to get moneys back off barratt.

i arranged for my sister ,catherine ,to send the money to sse by bank transfer ,and i understand that gary and his digging chap are checking out the scene to get prices for the trenching .

iain has let me know that if it proves to be a good solution price wize we can use the same trench for our link to east and west cott ,,and simplify things that way too.
